Watch Stu Smith make an ascent of Whistler 500, a stunning 5.12b roof crack near Whistler. The steep route is 10 kilometres south of Whistler Village on the west side of the highway.
Will Stanhope made the first solo ascent about five years ago. The hard route was first climbed in 1987 by Hamish Fraser.
