Lucas Uchida Floats Bishop Classics

The Canadian climber flashed V12 and sent multiple V14s on a recent trip to California

Canadian climber Lucas Uchida recently went on a bouldering trip to Bishop, California. He climbed many of the area’s hard classics including The Swarm V14, Mandala Sit V14, Buttermilker V13, and Spectre V13. He also flashed A Maze of Death V12. A new film from Antigrav was recently released by Mellow showcasing Uchida’s Bishop trip highlights, which you can watch below. The video is shot on film in an old-school 480p style.

“It was a fantastic first trip, which involved meeting new people, reconnecting with familiar faces, building on friendships, connecting with the beautiful landscape, and climbing the classic hard boulders Bishop offers,” said Uchida on Instagram. “Many thanks to the people who made this trip such a great one.”

In Squamish last year, Uchida repeated Zazen V15 and The Megg V14 and made the first ascent of Seven V14. In 2022, he repeated Room Service V12, The Pool Low V13, Room Service Low V14, Deadlift V14, North-North Ridge V14, The Singularity V15, and Dreamcatcher 5.14d, and made the first ascent of Offenders of the Faith V13.

In Summer 2023, he took a 12-day bouldering trip to Colorado where he racked up a wildly impressive ticklist. He sent To Your Scattered Bodies Go V14, Ode to the Modern Man V14, Evil Backwards V13, Mote in God’s Eye V13, Automator V13, and Chocolate Jesus V13. He also flashed Nuthin’ but Sunshine V13.
