IFSC 2016 World Cup: Canadians Heading to Arco for Lead and Speed

The Rock Master Festival 2016 kicks off in Arco, Italy. The week-long event will feature the IFSC Lead World Cup and Arco Rock Legends this weekend. A number of Canadians will be competing at the World Cup, including Elan Jonas McRae (Lead), Nathan Smith (Lead), Matt Wellington (Lead), Christy Spurrell (Lead), Jaylene Pratt (Lead) and Alison Stewart Patterson (Lead, Speed). There are 199 climbers registered to compete at the Arco Climbing Stadium in Grand Trentino. Full list of starters here.

The Arco Rock Master has been running since 1987, making it the longest running comp. There will be a number of top climbers, including Helene Janicot, Anak Verhoeven, Mina Markovic, Adam Ondra, Jakob Schubert, Domen Skofic, Sebastian Halenke, Magdalena Röck, Mathilde Becerra, Janja Garnbret and Andrea Ebner.
