Drew Ruana Sends New V16 Along Huge Roof

Bookkeeping follows a horizontal line through burly cruxes and big moves

Drew Ruana continues his strong year with the first ascent of Bookkeeping V16 in Colorado. Ruana has climbed several V16s in the past, including Insomniac FA at Lincoln Lake, Sleepwalker  at Red Rocks, Box Therapy at Wild Basin, and the second Ascent Creature from the Black Lagoon at Chaos.

When Ruana was 15 he sent Just Do It 5.14c in Smith Rock, at 16 he made the FA of Assassin 5.14d+, and when he was 17 he sent Brave New World 5.14d. Ruana has climbed over 50 V14s, read more about that accomplishment here.

This spring, Ruana made the first ascent of Say Wolf V15, about which he said, “This line was much easier to climb than I had imagined, it’s difficult to find such good climbs.” Watch Ruana make the first ascent of Bookkeeping, which instead of topping out ends where the roof hits a wall, below.
