Laura Rogora Climbs Lapsus 5.15a in Italy

This is her fifth 5.15 to date and the seventh ascent of Lapsus, which was originally graded 5.15b

Laura Rogora, 22, has made the first female ascent of Lapsus, a steep 5.15a at Andonno, Italy. During her trip, she also climbed several other noteworthy sport routes.

Rogora, who onsighted 5.14a and 5.14b earlier this year, only needed a few sessions to tick Lapsus, which was originally graded 5.15b by Stefano Ghisolfi in 2015. She also climbed Noia, the first 5.14c in Italy established in 1993 by Severino Scassa; Andrea Gallo’s 5.14a called Noi; and Stefano Ghisolfi’s 5.14c/d called Noia.

The other climbers who’ve redpointed Lapsus, along with their personal grades, are: Adam Ondra at 5.15a, Marcello Bombardi at 5.15a hard, Jonathan Siegrist at 5.15a hard, Tommy Gio at 5.15b, and Seb Bouin at 5.15a.

Rogora has long been one of the world’s top climbers for her age, as she climbed her first 5.14b at 13 with Ciccio Formaggio in Italy, and her first 5.14d when she was 14. Also when she was 14, she onsighted 5.13b. She has also climbed nearly three dozen routes from 5.14+ to 5.15-. In 2020, she became the second woman to climb 5.15b with Ali Hulk (extension total sit start). She’s also repeated Erebor 5.15b, and she made the second ascent of Pure Dreaming Plus 5.15a.
