Yves Gravelle Sends Another New V14 in Quebec

It's his second new problem of the grade this year

Yves Gravelle has taken down another hard project in Quebec, his second V14 of the season. At Kanata-Tremblant, local crusher Gravelle made the first ascent of Miall’s Ahead, the sit start to Green Dolphin Street.

“I named this line after Jody Miall, my early mentor, friend and definitely one of the climbers that made the biggest impact in my climbing career,” said Gravelle. “This one if for you buddy.” Earlier in September, Gravelle made the first ascent of Thessalhydra V14, one of the hardest routes in Eastern Canada, which is next to Miall’s Ahead.

“One’s of the sickest lines I’ve ever put up,” said Gravelle about Miall’s Ahead on 8a.nu. “Fingery, powerful, technical with lots of very low percentage moves. “Adds a hard V12 to the stand of Green Dolphin Street, which is around V11/12. So, V14 seems pretty accurate. Felt a bit harder that Thessalhydra and Echale for me.”

Jody Miall was the-go-to for Canadian route setting for many national championships over the years.
