Scary Video with Massive Ice Curtain Breaking on Climber

Lucie Hrozova posted a video of her friends climbing in Rjukan, Norway, when a scary situation unfolds. As the lead climber pulls onto an ice curtain on a mixed multi-pitch, the curtain snaps below his feet with his tools above the fracture line.

Hrozova said that the climber ended up falling about eight metres onto a cam in a crack. The video ends as the camera person puts the camera down to run over to help.

This is a great example of why you never put an ice screw into a hanging curtain or dagger.
