The powerful route in on the newly bolted University Wall in the Bow Valley

Watch Dexter Bateman on the first ascent of Blow at High Dough 5.13c on University Wall in McGillivray Canyon near Canmore, a line that he bolted and redpointed.

The route is named after a Tragically Hip song, a band that has routes named after their song titles across Canada. Also in the Rockies is Wheat Kings 5.7, seven pitches, and in New Brunswick is Fifty Mission Cap 5.10+, two pitches.

At New World in B.C. is Pigeon Camera 5.12, which was recently extended by Sonnie Trotter into Lionized 5.14a; songs nine and 10 on the album Fully Completely. At Horne Lake is Ahead by a Century 5.13c. Do you know of more routes in Canada names after Tragically Hip songs? Let us know.
