In November 2018, Ontario climber Joe Skopec sent a new 5.14+ close to Toronto and called it Home Away From Home. “I made this video so I can always look back and remember my three-year battle with this route,” said Skopec.
“Clipping those anchors while crying is a moment I’ll never forget. Stoked to find my next big project.”
Skopec recently moved to the Ottawa area, but while he lived closer to the Escarpment crags, he established many hard routes, including Team Choss 5.14a, Bromance 5.14b and Deja Vu 5.14b. He also climbed every route in both editions of Ontario Climbing.
