Climber Free-Solos Big Scottish Route

Dave MacLeod goes for a rope-less lap up a famous route on Ben Nevis

Dave MacLeod is known for his hard trad and winter mixed sends, but he’s also spent many days alone in the mountains free-soloing big routes. He recently solod Cioch Nose (VD) on Ben Nevis, which he said he’d been waiting for a perfect day to accomplish.

It was first climbed by Chris Bonington and Tom Patey in 1960 and is usually done in seven pitches over 200 metres. Watch below.
