Skier Takes Nasty Fall Off Cliff, Gives Great Break Down

Eagle's Nest is one of the most looked at lines at this popular ski resort. On top is a statue dedicated to a famous Canadian skier who died in 2009

In April 2022, Scott Gaffney dropped into the famous Eagle’s Nest, a 63-degree ski line at Palisades Tahoe in California. The resulting tumble left him banged up, an accident that he breaks down in the below video.

It’s arguably the resort’s most technical line with an exposed crux and mandatory air out. It has several sharp rocks. On top of the slope is a statue of an eagle that was built to memorialize Shane McConkey, a famous Canadian skier who died in a ski BASE-jump in Italy on March 29, 2009.
