Dave MacLeod goes alone up a classic route on Ben Nevis

Dave MacLeod is known for his bold ascents, from hard trad to remote alpine climbs. He’ss been climbing for three decades, and has sent several impressive grade, including E11 trad; XII,12 mixed and has free-soloed 5.14a. “I’m best known for my first ascents of routes such as Rhapsody, the world’s first E11 trad route, Anubis VII,12 one of the world’s hardest mixed climbs and Echo Wall on Ben Nevis,” he said.

“As well as my FAs in Scotland, I’ve climbed numerous hard big walls around the world such as Project Fear (400m 8c) on the north face of Cima Ovest, Paciencia (900m 8a) Eiger North Face, Disco 2000 (400m 8a+, Blamman, Norway).”
